Priscilla Spitler is a hand bookbinder and book artist based in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.

Priscilla studied printmaking at the California College of Arts & Crafts, Oakland (BFA 1975), craft bookbinding at the London College of Printing (Certificate 1981), and design binding with James Brockman at the Harry Ransom Center, University of Texas at Austin in 1987. She was an edition binder for the Palace Press, Museum of New Mexico, Santa Fe, from 1982-1986 and at BookLab, Inc., in Austin, Texas, from 1987 to 1995. Her Hands On Bookbinding studio was established in Austin in 1995, which was moved to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, in 2007.

Priscilla is the 2009 and the 2015 prize winner of the Helen Warren DeGolyer Award for American Bookbinding, awarded by the Bridwell Library, SMU, Dallas; and a 2017 Silver Prize winner of the English Designer Bookbinders’ Heroic Works Exhibition held at the Bodleian Library, Oxford. In 2015, the Guild of Book Workers honored Priscilla with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
